I believe these flowers are a type of aster, but it could be any one of at least four different species. Pacific, Western, Longleaf, Smooth… I don’t know. The photo was taken at Elk Island National Park under natural light conditions. The background was dark enough to completely disappear with no photoshop trickery. Although I did erase a few errant leaves from the foreground… artistic license.
