I don’t get to see bald eagles very often, and this was my first time photographing one. This was as close as I could get due to their nesting area being closed to hikers, but it gave me a good vantage point. I didn’t have to settle for a shot looking up from far below which would have included a lot of cloudy sky and made his head almost invisible. Taken near Medicine Lake in Jasper National Park.
