Who knew they actually had new music? We didn’t, but we wanted to see them anyway, when we found out they were performing a concert in Whitecourt, AB to which attendance was free. Thank you, town of Whitecourt! It was actually a pretty good concert considering the audience didn’t have to pay to be there. In a town of around 10,000 people with an audience of probably less than 1000 you might expect a band to phone it in. However, I thought they were pretty good and was impressed at how much Mark Holmes could still hit the notes he hit 30 years ago. Their new songs weren’t really groundbreaking, but had the same Platinum Blonde feel you might expect and were not bad. So, if you enjoyed Platinum Blonde back in the 80’s then check them out at a casino near you! 😉
