A final shot this week from the Living Desert Zoo in Palm Desert, CA. One section of the zoo is a large enclosed area that you enter through double doors – like an airlock – to prevent any of the birds from escaping. This black-crowned night-heron was just sitting patiently pretty much ignoring how close I got to him to take his portrait.
