The ocean is great on a grand scale, but sometimes the details can be very interesting. I’d seen a few images where the photographer had zoomed in on the edge of the incoming wave like this and wanted to try it out myself. Within a fairly short time I was able to get a few photos that I was pretty happy with. This is definitely something I will do again as every shot will be different. Shallow depth of field and fast shutter speed are key in this type of shot.
