Spotted this spruce grouse chick on the Sulphur skyline trail in Jasper, AB. At least I’m about 99% sure it’s a spruce grouse. Would never have seen it if the mother hadn’t been there.

I’m not sure if this little guy is a type of ground squirrel or a chipmunk. We saw him along the trail at the top of Sulphur Mountain in Banff, AB.

So we were visiting Dawn’s Mom on the weekend and they have a new kitten. At about 10 weeks old if I remember correctly, he was pretty darn cute, so I took some photos. He was also very tough to get in focus, as he rarely stopped moving.
