Grizzly Bears in Jasper Alberta (six photos)

We were very excited to see these two grizzly bears last time in Jasper National Park. They were near the side of the road so we were able to stop and I took all of these photos with a long lens from the safety of my car.

As they started heading for higher ground, one of them knocked a large rock loose. This caught its attention and it watched the rock fall to the side of the road.

While I pulled the car forward for a better angle, they climbed to the top of the ledge.

Happy with their new vantage point, they both sat down together and just watched all the vehicles driving by.

A bull elk digging through the snow to find grass from when we were in Jasper after Christmas. Hard to believe, but this is the first picture of an elk that I have posted since 2012. Guess I should pay a little more attention to them, they are beautiful animals.

Spotted this spruce grouse chick on the Sulphur skyline trail in Jasper, AB. At least I’m about 99% sure it’s a spruce grouse. Would never have seen it if the mother hadn’t been there.
