5 Day Black and White Challenge – Day 3

Today’s challenge photo is from Lake Louise in Banff National Park, AB. I saw some people cross-country skiing across the frozen lake when we were there over Christmas a couple years ago.

The person I’d like to invite to participate in the challenge today is Maralee Park. She likes to photograph some of the same types of things that I do, and has been known to participate in a photo challenge now and then.

Lake Louise

We took a short jaunt into Lake Louise while we were in Banff. Hadn’t been there for quite some time, so just wanted to take a quick look. Lots of things were happening on the (mostly) frozen lake including skiing, skating and what looked like an ice carving exhibition that was just being set up. As you can see, the ice was very thin in some places, but where they were setting up for the ice carving there were actually vehicles parked on the ice.  I guess it thickened up in a hurry from the open water we saw which was only a few hundred feet away.
