Here’s the result of my attempt to photograph the lunar eclipse from the weekend. I took a lot of shots, but in the end decided to just make a composite of four images. I was disappointed by how my shots of totality turned out. I just couldn’t get enough light through my lens to avoid excessive noise, so I didn’t get a good ‘blood moon’ shot. The coolest thing that came out of it was that I found an app that let me use my phone as an intervalometer, including automatically releasing the shutter remotely.

Well, that looks cool to me! I tried, but also found that the red didn’t show up on my pictures… much nicer to just see with the naked eye…
Yeah it’s cool seeing different phases in one image. I think it might have been starting to get a bit hazy, which probably didn’t help the full eclipse shots, shortly after that it disappeared into cloud.
in my e-mail it looks fine but now I see the pixilation. I like the composite, well done.
